Machine Overview:
This automatic back-plate drilling machine is specially engineered for drilling alarm wire mounting holes on brake pad backing plates. Controlled by PLC system, it adopts dual-drill simultaneous working design. Operators can adjust drill angle and drilling depth directly on the touch-screen panel. Equipped with stacking rack and robotic arm, the machine automatically feeds backing plates from the stack rack to the machining station and completes automatic unloading after drilling, realizing full-cycle unmanned operation for high-volume brake-pad production.
It is dedicated to machining alarm wire insertion holes on brake pad back-plates. It fits various brake pad backing plates for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Hole diameter, hole depth and inclined drilling angle can be configured according to customer drawing requirements, perfectly matching the pre-drilling requirement for brake-pad wear-alarm sensor installation.
Our Advantages:
PLC Control & Dual-Drill Simultaneous Machining
The whole machine runs under PLC programmable logic controller. Two independent drill heads work synchronously to finish two warning-wire holes in one cycle. It greatly shortens cycle time and improves batch-production throughput. Each drill head can also be set for independent operation for flexible production needs.
Touch-Screen Parameter Adjustment
Drilling angle and drilling depth for both drill heads are digitally adjustable via the operation touch-screen. No complicated manual mechanical tuning. Operators can quickly modify parameters when switching different back-plate models, reducing mold-change setup time. Depth control ensures consistent hole depth with high repeat accuracy.
Full Automatic Loading & Unloading System
Built-in stacking rack stores bulk raw back plates. The robotic arm automatically picks back plates from the stack rack and transfers them to the drilling station. After drilling operation finishes, finished workpieces are automatically discharged. Manual feeding intervention is largely reduced, lowering labor cost and avoiding manual positioning error.
High-precision Drilling Performance
Maintain stable aperture accuracy and center-distance precision. Optional cooling modes include dry drilling, coolant cooling, oil injection drilling and air cooling. Automatic air-blow function removes iron chips from fixture to keep the tooling clean and extend service life of drill bits.
Working Process
● Stack back plates onto the material stacking rack
● Set target drill angle, drilling depth and other process parameters on the touch-screen.
● Start automatic cycle, robotic arm picks one back-plate and delivers it to the positioning fixture.
● Dual drill heads execute synchronous drilling for warning-wire holes. Chips are blown away by automatic air blower.
● Upon completion, finished workpiece is automatically unloaded, and the machine proceeds to next workpiece cycle.
